Marketing tool registered under Japan's 2026 Digital/AI adoption subsidy

NUWORKS announced that its 'SNS Bridge' service, which handles SEO, local-map and AI-search optimisation from Instagram posts, has been registered as an eligible IT tool under the Digitalisation and AI Adoption Subsidy 2026. The standard subsidy rate is 1/2, up to 2/3 if conditions are met.

Key points

  1. Standard subsidy rate is 1/2 of eligible costs, up to 2/3 for businesses meeting certain wage requirements, with a maximum of JPY 4.5 million
  2. Up to two years of tool fees are eligible; the applicant receives the subsidy afterwards from the secretariat
  3. Costs contracted, ordered or paid before the grant decision are not eligible

Background

The release, citing the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency's overview, explains that the former IT Adoption Subsidy has been renamed the Digitalisation and AI Adoption Subsidy and supports IT tools including AI. Applicants file jointly with a registered IT support provider, and the release states that selection and payment depend on the secretariat's review and are not guaranteed.

This is an announcement by a specific tool vendor; the application guidelines and the secretariat's official notices take precedence for rates and requirements.

What it means for shops

For small shops and businesses with physical stores, subsidies may reduce the cost of marketing IT tools. But choosing the wrong tool or the wrong timing can make costs ineligible.

What shops should do

  1. Check the SME Agency and subsidy secretariat's official pages for current guidelines, eligibility and deadlines

Keio Department Store visitor survey: guests who knew it beforehand were ~3x likelier to come for dining

Allied Architects has published its analysis of about 2,200 inbound-visitor survey responses that Keio Department Store collected from January to August 2026. Visitors who already knew the store beforehand were roughly three times as likely to come for a meal as those who did not. The findings also show that what visitors want differs by country or region and by number of visits, which is useful for planning inbound outreach.

Japan's CAA fines 4 home builders about ¥440M over 'No.1' ad claims built on a flawed survey

On 28 October 2026 Japan's Consumer Affairs Agency issued surcharge orders under the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations to four custom-home builders. The 'No.1' rankings in their ads rested on a survey the agency found was not objective. Any shop or business that advertises rankings should treat this as a prompt to check its own evidence.
